Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (or honey/maple syrup)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
How to Make Strawberry Chia Jam
Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries
Wash, hull, and chop strawberries.
Mash lightly using a potato masher or fork, leaving some texture.
Step 2: Cook the Jam
Add strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Simmer for 5–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 3: Add Chia Seeds
Remove from heat and stir in chia seeds.
Let sit for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
Step 4: Cool and Store
Transfer to clean jars or containers.
Let cool completely before storing.
Storage
- Refrigerator: up to 2–3 weeks
- Freezer: up to 3 months
This recipe is not recommended for water bath canning.
