How to Prepare Rhubarb for Freezing
Step 1: Wash the Stalks
Rinse well under cool water.
Because rhubarb grows close to the ground, dirt can cling to stalks.
Step 2: Remove Leaves
Discard all leaves.
Rhubarb leaves are toxic and should not be eaten.
Step 3: Trim and Cut
Trim ends and cut stalks into:
- 1-inch pieces for baking

Step 1
Spread cut rhubarb pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet.
