If you have visited this web site much, you know how much I love using mixes. Mixes not only make your life a lot easier, they are healthier and usually much less expensive than store bought mixes. This homemade hamburger helper mix is no exception.

I’m going to be honest, I haven’t had store-bought hamburger helper in years. When you start making more homemade dinners, you realize that many of the store bought mixes you buy at the store are just…yucky. If you are looking for the convenience of store bought mixes, then you will love this recipe. And your family will too!
Hamburger Helper Mix Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1-1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
Combine all ingredients together and store in a quart sized ziploc bag or a pint sized mason jar. Mix will store for 6 months to a year.
To prepare, brown 1 lb. ground beef. Drain grease. Add ingredients in the jar to the hamburger, then add 1 c. water and 2 c. milk. Simmer until macaroni is fully cooked. Add grated cheese, if desired, a few minutes before serving.
