Mopping is a chore that most people don’t enjoy. I know I don’t! I never realized that different types of mops are recommended for different types of floors. If you are mopping a tile floor, then there are certain things you want to keep in mind.

If you have a sponge mop, this is not the best mop to use on a tile floor. Sponge mops will just move dirt around on the floor and not do a very good job of picking up dirt. For tile floors you want to use a microfiber mop.
Supplies Needed
- White Vinegar
- Microfiber Mop (this one comes with a easy-wring bucket)
Tips for Mopping Tile Floors
First vacuum or sweep your tile floor to remove excess debris.
Next fill a bucket with warm water and add about 1/2 cup white vinegar.
Place the mop in the vinegar and water mixture and then wring thoroughly. Begin mopping, rinsing the mop occasionally. When the water gets really cloudy, replace the water and vinegar mixture and repeat until floor is clean.

How to Clean Grout
If you notice that the grout between your tiles is starting to get really dingy and dirty, mopping alone will not get that tile clean.
They make special grout cleaners like this one that you can spray on the grout between your tiles to get it clean and looking like new again. It will take a little elbow grease and a little scrubbing with a grout brush, but you won’t have to do this very often to keep your grout looking clean.
