It’s thick, creamy, naturally sweet, and tastes like dessert while packing more than 30 grams of protein to help keep you full and satisfied.

  • Great for breakfast or after a workout
  • Easy to customize

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder* (about 30g protein)
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides
  • 1 serving creatine (about 5g)
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

* This is the vanilla protein powder I make sure to always have on hand.

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add additional almond milk if you’d like a thinner consistency.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Crushed graham crackers
  • Banana slices
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar-free vanilla wafer crumbs

Tips

Using a frozen banana creates the thick, creamy texture that makes this shake taste like a real banana cream pie.

For even more protein, add a little extra Greek yogurt or use ultra-filtered milk instead of almond milk.

If you prefer a sweeter shake, add a teaspoon of honey or a pitted Medjool date.

Why Add Collagen?

Collagen peptides blend right into this smoothie without changing the flavor. I often add a scoop for an extra protein boost and an easy way to increase my daily protein intake. This is the collagen I love.

Adding collagen may help support:

  • Healthy skin
  • Strong hair and nails
  • Joint health
  • Healthy connective tissue

Why Add Creatine?

Creatine isn’t just for athletes.

Research shows creatine may help support:

  • Muscle strength
  • Exercise recovery
  • Lean muscle maintenance
  • Healthy aging
  • Brain health

Creatine is virtually flavorless, making it an easy addition to smoothies and protein shakes. Simply blend it in with the other ingredients. This is my favorite creatine supplement.

Protein Breakdown (Approximate)

Total Protein: Approximately 49-50 grams

Even if you use a protein powder with slightly less protein, this shake still provides well over 30 grams of protein.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this dairy-free?

Yes. Substitute a dairy-free yogurt for the Greek yogurt and use your favorite plant-based protein powder.

Can I make it ahead of time?

It’s best enjoyed immediately, but you can refrigerate it for several hours. Give it a good shake or stir before drinking.

What protein powder works best?

A vanilla whey protein creates the creamiest texture, but any vanilla protein powder you enjoy will work.

Do I have to add collagen and creatine?

No, but both blend in easily without changing the flavor. I like adding collagen for extra protein and creatine as part of my daily wellness routine.
