I love a good chocolate banana smoothie because it tastes more like a treat than a healthy breakfast.
This one is creamy, filling, and easy to throw together when I need something quick in the morning or after a workout.
I’ve also been making a point of getting more protein into my day, so I added protein powder, collagen peptides, and creatine to this version.
You really don’t taste any of them, and it turns a basic banana smoothie into a much more substantial breakfast.

Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, preferably frozen
- 1 cup milk of your choice
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop collagen peptides
- 3–5 grams creatine monohydrate
- ½ cup ice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional

How to Make a Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie
Add the banana, milk, protein powder, cocoa powder, Greek yogurt, collagen, creatine, vanilla, and ice to a blender.
Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk until you get the consistency you like.
Taste and add a little honey or maple syrup if you want it sweeter. Pour into a glass and enjoy right away.
A Few Easy Tips
Use a frozen banana. This makes the smoothie thick and creamy without needing a lot of ice.
Don’t skip the cocoa. Even if you’re using chocolate protein powder, a little unsweetened cocoa gives it a much richer chocolate flavor.
Add the collagen and creatine right to the blender. Both are easy additions to a smoothie, and creatine monohydrate is essentially flavorless.
