Fill a clean mason jar halfway with dried chamomile flowers.
Using dried flowers helps prevent excess moisture, which can shorten the shelf life of the oil.
Step 2
Pour your carrier oil over the chamomile until the flowers are completely covered.
Leave about 1/2 inch of space at the top of the jar.
Step 3
Seal the jar tightly and place it in a cool, dark place for 2 to 4 weeks.
Shake the jar gently every few days to help the flowers infuse into the oil.
Step 4
After the infusion period, strain the oil through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl.
Discard the flowers.
Step 5
If desired, stir in chamomile essential oil for additional fragrance and Vitamin E oil to help extend the shelf life.
Transfer the finished oil to a dark glass bottle.
Quick Warm Infusion Method
Need your body oil sooner?
Place the jar in a saucepan filled with a few inches of warm water.
Heat over very low heat for 2 to 3 hours, making sure the oil never boils.
Allow the oil to cool completely before straining and bottling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use fresh chamomile flowers?
It’s best to use dried flowers. Fresh flowers contain moisture that may encourage mold and reduce the shelf life of the oil.
Can I use chamomile tea bags?
Loose dried chamomile flowers generally produce a higher-quality infusion, but plain chamomile tea bags without added ingredients can work in a pinch.
Can I add other essential oils?
Yes! Chamomile blends beautifully with:
- Lavender
- Rose
- Vanilla
- Frankincense
- Geranium
- Sweet Orange
