How to Freeze Milk

The price of milk is getting higher and higher. Occasionally grocery stores put milk on sale, but your family can only drink so much milk in one week. Is it possible to freeze it? The answer is yes!

If you find a really good sale on milk, it IS possible to freeze it. The main thing you need to worry about is the milk expanding when it freezes.

Pour approximately a cup of milk out of the milk container and the place the container in the freezer. You can freeze milk for several months with no noticeable loss in taste or quality. It will keep for at least a week after it is thawed.

When you are ready to use the milk, let it thaw in the refrigerator and then shake it up really well before serving. I was lucky enough to find milk for $1.99 a gallon this week. So now I have two extra gallons in the freezer for when we run out!
