There’s something about a glass of eggnog that makes the holidays feel official.
This easy Christmas eggnog cocktail takes creamy, spiced eggnog and gives it a little grown-up twist with a splash of rum or bourbon.
It’s simple to mix together, looks festive with a sprinkle of nutmeg, and makes a lovely drink to serve after Christmas dinner or at a holiday gathering.

Tips for Making an Eggnog Cocktail
Choose your spirit. Dark rum adds a warm, slightly sweet flavor, while bourbon gives the cocktail a richer, oaky taste. You can also use brandy for a traditional flavor.
Make it extra festive. Add a pinch of cinnamon or freshly grated nutmeg, or garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Serve it chilled. Keep the eggnog refrigerated until you’re ready to mix the cocktail. A chilled glass helps keep it cold, too.
Make a batch for guests. Multiply the ingredients by the number of servings and stir together in a pitcher. Keep refrigerated and pour into individual glasses just before serving.
