These cute Frankenstein Rice Krispie treats are such a fun Halloween treat! They’re easy to make and would be perfect for a Halloween party, school party, or a fun afternoon in the kitchen with the kids.
The best part is that you can turn ordinary Rice Krispie treats into little Frankenstein faces with just a little green coloring, chocolate, and candy eyes.
What You Need
- Rice Krispie treats, homemade or store-bought
- Green food coloring
- Chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips
- Candy eyes
- Wax paper or parchment paper
- A piping bag or small zip-top bag
How to Make Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats
1. Make the Rice Krispie treats
You can make your favorite homemade Rice Krispie treats or use premade treats to make this project even easier.
If you’re making them from scratch, add a little green food coloring to the marshmallow mixture before stirring in the cereal. Mix until the cereal is evenly coated.
Let the treats cool and cut them into rectangles.

2. Add Frankenstein’s hair
Melt your chocolate according to the package directions.
Dip the top of each Rice Krispie treat into the melted chocolate to create Frankenstein’s hair.
Set the treats on wax paper and allow the chocolate to set.
3. Add the eyes
While the chocolate is still soft, place two candy eyes on each treat.
You can use different sizes of candy eyes to give your Frankensteins different expressions.
4. Draw the mouth
Put some of the melted chocolate into a piping bag or small zip-top bag and snip off a tiny corner.
Pipe a crooked Frankenstein smile across the front of each treat. Add a few little lines across the mouth to make it look like Frankenstein’s stitched-up face.
Let the chocolate harden completely before serving.
These Frankenstein Rice Krispie treats would be so much fun to make with the kids. They don’t have to look perfect—in fact, the sillier they look, the better!
