Supplies Needed:
- Mason jar with ring
- Baking soda
- Essential oil
- Scrapbook paper or wrapping paper
- Needle
This DIY odor absorber only takes a few minutes to make. First fill your mason jar with baking soda.
Add 12 drops or so of your favorite essential oil. Lavender, Sweet Orange Oil, and Patchouli Oil are all good choices. I used lavender oil.
Use the lid from a mason jar as a pattern to cut out a piece of scrapbook paper or wrapping paper that will fit on top of the jar.
Place the piece of paper on top of the jar and screw the ring on the jar.
Give the jar a couple of good shakes to distribute the essential oil throughout the jar.
Use a sharp needle or pin to poke holes through the paper.
That’s it! The baking soda will trap unpleasant odors in your home and the essential oils will help make your home smell great too.
When the baking soda stops doing its job, just discard the old baking soda and replace with new.
