Ingredients

  • 10 jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded pepper jack or cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
  3. Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  5. Cut crescent dough into thin strips and wrap around each jalapeño, leaving an opening for the eyes.
  6. Place on the baking sheet.
  7. Whisk egg and water together and lightly brush the dough.
  8. Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly and add candy eyes.
  10. Serve warm.
