Prep Time 15 minutes
Chill Time 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice
  • Lemon slices and raspberries for garnish
  • Fresh mint optional

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat until the raspberries break down and the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Remove from heat and strain the raspberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds.
  3. Pour the raspberry syrup into a large pitcher.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice and remaining cold water. Stir well.
  5. Refrigerate until chilled.
  6. Serve over ice with fresh raspberries, lemon slices, and mint if desired.

Recipe Notes

Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor, but bottled lemon juice can work in a pinch.

Adjust the sugar depending on how tart or sweet you prefer your lemonade.

For a sparkling version, replace part of the water with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
