Homemade Yum Yum Sauce

This easy homemade yum yum sauce is creamy, tangy, slightly sweet, and perfect for dipping or drizzling over all your favorite Asian-inspired meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

  1. Add the mayonnaise, ketchup, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper to a medium bowl.
  2. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the water, 1 tablespoon at a time, whisking until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This gives the flavors time to blend together.
  5. Stir before serving and adjust the seasonings to taste.

Recipe Notes

For a spicier sauce: Add more cayenne pepper or a little sriracha.

For a sweeter sauce: Add another teaspoon of sugar.

For a thinner sauce: Add a little more water.
