Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice plus a little extra for topping
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin purée
  • 2 –3 tablespoons sugar or maple syrup to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream optional, for serving

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling. Whisk in the cocoa powder, pumpkin purée, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, and salt until smooth and well combined.
