Campfire Nachos

Who would have thought you could make nachos over your campfire!? I found this great idea at FamilyFun.com. It would be great for camping or even summer backyard grilling.

Ingredients:

Aluminum pie pan
Aluminum foil
Tortilla chips
Grated cheese
Salsa (optional)
Diced tomatoes, onions, olives (optional)
Chili (optional)

Have each person prepare their nachos in their pie pan and seal it in aluminum foil. Using a long pair of tongs, hold the pan over the campfire or you can also set it directly on your grill. Heat until cheese melts.

Note: If you are putting chili on your nachos, the chili either needs to be pre-heated or you need to put it on the bottom of the aluminum pie pan, underneath all the other ingredients. Otherwise the chips will burn before the chili is heated through. Yum! What a great summer treat.
