I had a lot of fun making these cute Peeps fruit kabobs. I mean really, how many different things can people think up to make with Peeps!?

Peeps Fruit Kabobs

Ingredients:

  • Peeps bunnies
  • Strawberries
  • Grapes
  • Pineapple
  • Skewers

These fruit kabobs will take you less than an hour to make. You can even make them up ahead of time, although I wouldn’t make them more than a day in advance. They will be okay in the refrigerator for a short amount of time, but the Peeps may dissolve a little if they get too much fruit juice on them.

I layered mine in a 13×9-inch plastic container and put waxed paper between the layers. They did fine in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

You can use any kind of fruit you like for these. I used pineapple, strawberries, and grapes.

You could use fresh or canned pineapple. My fresh pineapple was not quite ripe enough so it was a little hard to get on the skewers. Canned pineapple chunks would have been easier to work with, I think.

Strawberries you can either leave whole or cut in half if they are very large.

If you are not going to serve these right away and are afraid that any of the fruit is going to brown too much, like fresh pineapple, you might want to place the fruit in a bowl first and sprinkle it with some Fruit Fresh.

This will help prevent browning. You shouldn’t have to worry about that with the grapes and strawberries.

Next decide if you want the fruit on the skewers in a certain pattern (if you are slightly OCD like myself, ha ha), or you can just start placing the fruit on the skewers.

Place two or three pieces of fruit on the skewer, then a marshmallow Peep bunny, and then two or three more pieces of fruit.

That’s all there is to it! Do be careful giving these to young children, as the skewers are very sharp.

Happy Easter!
