My husband and I recently received a pair of brown microfiber couches. I have never had microfiber furniture before, so I didn’t know if it was going to be easy to clean them or not.

Within weeks of getting our new couches there was a ball point ink stain on the top of one of them, about two inches long.
I was hesitant to try wiping or spraying anything on it since the couches are so light in color.
I did some reading online and read that a lot of people had luck getting ball point ink out of microfiber with rubbing alcohol. I figured it couldn’t hurt to give it a try!

I got a q-tip and soaked it with rubbing alcohol. I wiped the q-tip over the ball point ink stain, and the stain disappeared! I’m not kidding, I didn’t even have to rub in the the rubbing alcohol, the stain literally disappeared.
After the rubbing alcohol dried I brushed the microfiber with a stiff bristled brush, and it looked as good as new.
As far as using rubbing alcohol for other types of stains, I did use it to try to get out some larger stains, and it worked great.
When the rubbing alcohol dries it does not leave a stain (but you still might want to test first on a not very noticeable area of the couch just to make sure it won’t stain).
I’m pretty excited that the rubbing alcohol trick worked. I’m pretty sure it was me who got the stain on the couch in the first place, and it is very likely to happen again!
