Better than Bush's Baked Beans

Easy recipe for homemade baked beans that will make everyone ask for more. Better even than Bush's baked beans!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 1 16-oz. can pork and beans
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking dish.

  2. Brown hamburger in a frying pan, and add onion and bell pepper, cooking until vegetables are soft. Stir in the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer for a few minutes and then pour the hamburger and bean mixture into the greased casserole dish.

  3. Arrange the bacon pieces on top and cover the dish with foil. Bake for 50 minutes, removing the foil for the last 10 minutes. Let the dish sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.
